Unpacking
1) Unpack and carefully examine the product.
2) Report any damage and save all packing materials if any part is damaged during transport.
3) Do not attempt to use this apparatus if it is damaged.
Warnings
1£©Risk of electric shock. Ensure that the power supply is off when wring or soldering the sections of the strip.
2) The strip and power supply must be installed or cut by a qualified electrician or technician in accordance relevant local codes.
Cautions
1) Suggested continuous working time is around 8 hours, never more than 12 hours.
2) The smallest workable unit for LED Ribbon Strip is 3 LEDs. Cut only at the cutting mark.
3) Do not use sharp tools near or on the surface of LEDs.
4) Do not hot swap. Ensure that power supply is off before installing and cutting the strip.
5) Use recommended 12VDC output power supply (QDriver™ 1260 LED Power Supply or equivalent) to drive the strip.
User Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the contractor, installer, purchaser, owner, and user to install, maintain, and operate the strip in such a manner as to comply with all state and local laws, ordinances, and regulations.
Note:
The instructions and precautions set forth in this user guide are not necessarily all-inclusive, all conceivable, or relevant to all applications as ATG Electronics cannot anticipate all conceivable or unique situations.
PLANNING THE INSTALLATION
The strip installation requires planning to ensure timely, successful installation with minimal complications and down time.
Planning Suggestions
Consult an Electrical Inspector to review all wiring plans.
Create a Layout Plan drawing, per a Lighting Designer¡¯s or Architect¡¯s recommendation.
Consult ATG Electronics Application Engineering Services as needed.
Installation Considerations
When creating your installation plan, consider the following:
1) Location of the strip
ATG Electronics recommends that the strip is positioned at least 1"(2.5cm) away from the illuminated surface to allow for proper light mixing.
2) Working condition
The strip is non-waterproof which is suitable for indoor applications.
3) Selection of soldering tools
Ensure that the tool selected is appropriate for the soldering surface.
Install and wire the power supply before installing the strip. Refer to the product catalog of the specified power supply for more information.
4) Length of the strip.
Strips can be cut or connected to adjustable lengths.
5) Maximum series-wound quantity
1 roll, connected with QDriver™ 1260 LED Power Supply.
Installation Steps
1) Remove the 3M tape from the back of the strip;
2) Attach the strip on to the defined area according to project layout.
3) Cut at cut mark or join strips together to adjustable length. (You may need soldering tools to accomplish your work.)
4) Connect the controller to the strip. Make sure the common wires and data wires (red, green and blue wires) are connected properly. (Detailed operation instruction, please refer to the specific user guide.)
5) Connect power supply to the controller.
6) Plug power supply into power outlet to light the whole system.
* If you need more than 9.8 feet or 3 meter strips at synchronous color changing effect, power expansion module(s) will be needed. Please refer to the below wiring diagram for details or consult your sales representative.

LED SOURCE LIFE
Traditionally, the definition of life for light sources is defined at the point which 50% of the lamps fail under specified conditions. However, all necessary components in a LED lighting system will determine useful life time. According to the industry standard, ATG Electronics uses the concept of useful light output and rates product life time at standard of ¡°less than 50% lumen maintenance of original light output¡±.
LED exhibits very long operational life time, typically 50,000 hours or more. However, like all light source, LED light output can degrades and also undergo gradual shifts in color over time.
LED chips, performed lighting effects and working environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation will affect LED lumen maintenance. The overall LED Lighting System life time could vary substantially based on usage and environmental condition.
ATG Electronics always adopts brand chips and high quality materials and components to make LED Lighting Systems.
