What distinguishes a quality LED from an inferior one? How can you tell the difference between the two? Selecting a good LED begins at the chip level and ends with the assembly.
Starting with quality materials, top LED manufacturers produce superior, consistent wafers and, thus, superior chips. The chemistry and materials used during the wafer process are important variables in determining the overall performance of an LED.
A single 2-in. LED wafer can yield upwards of 6,000 LED chips, though individual chips will have different performance characteristics. A good chip manufacturer produces chips with the fewest inconsistencies in color, intensity, and voltage drop.
ATG Electronics has built up strategic cooperation with Nichia, Cree, LumiLEDs, as well as some Korean and Taiwan companies. We choose suitable chips for packaging LEDs and manufacture different application lighting fixtures.
